Supported workflow and limitations
This is a text-layer extractor, not a full table-structure reconstruction engine. Scanned PDFs without selectable text require OCR and are not automatically recognized by this PDF tool. Multi-column layouts, merged cells and complex tables may need editing.
Privacy and file handling
Your selected files are processed in your browser. ProTools does not require you to upload them to a document-processing server. Required JavaScript libraries and language data may be downloaded from their respective CDNs. Analytics and advertising are controlled separately by your cookie preferences.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Not reliably. Scanned pages are images without a text layer. Use Image to Text or convert the page to an image first, then run OCR.
Will the original table layout be preserved?
The tool estimates rows and columns from PDF text coordinates. It cannot guarantee exact reconstruction of merged cells, borders or complex layouts.
Can I edit the extracted spreadsheet?
Yes. The preview is editable before you download the XLSX workbook.
